MOLLY & ME

Tommie
McLaren Vale

Woof everyone!
Well it's been all go with me. After the week planning Backhouse does Burra we have been visiting my German Shepherd mate Molly and her parents, Leigh and Janet, in McLaren Vale. They live on the Mollydooker vineyard which is a co-incidence because that's what Molly's name is.
Anyway. I always love it there even though I am not allowed in the house because I eat the cat's food. I don't even know its name. To me it's just THE CAT. No more information needed really.
Molly and I get on well although she is only 2 and I am nearly 10. Plus she a girl and I'm a boy. Well a man now I guess. But there are other differences as well.
Molly is a pedigree German Shepherd. The absolute original breed before a failed experiment with sloped back dogs was stopped. So she is kind of royalty, like a Hapsburg, and has a dog family as well as a human one. When Leigh and Janet go on holidays she visits her mother and father and some of her brothers and sisters on a farm as well as the humans who brought her up.
I am not a pedigree and I wouldn't want to visit my old family, especially the human ones. You see they weren't very nice to me. I won't go into it because I am better now. I even like blokes which took me about four years.
The thing is Molly has only known love and security. Plus she is a kind of German princess. Not in a 'she's a real princess' kind of a way but a real one. Like a lot of royalty, although she's the only one I have ever really met, she can be a little aloof. Leigh says she is discerning. I'm not. I'll roll over for anyone whose nice if there's a tummy scratch in it.
Shes not perfect though. She hates birds and ducks like I hate motor bikes.
Anyway, we do get on very well and she is very friendly to me. We had a bit of a blue over whose stick Leigh was throwing and I realized something a little bit painful. She is stronger and fitter than me. If we had a real fight I think I'd be in a lot of trouble. You have to realize these things when you get a bit older.
Dad and I left yesterday and are having great drive back to Alice. Its really cold though and I needed both jackets. Its going to me minus 2 in Alice this week.
Anyway. Thank you for reading my DogBlog. I do like writing it and reading the comments and I don't need Dad as much now to help me with the English. Not bad for a cattle dingo mongrel. I feel I am making my way in the world.
woof
Tommie xx
PS. Dad gives an extract from his new book in the eSwag this week. It's a good one because I am in it.
