Woof everyone!

Well it's been all go with me. After the week planning Backhouse does Burra we have been visiting my German Shepherd mate Molly and her parents, Leigh and Janet, in McLaren Vale. They live on the Mollydooker vineyard which is a co-incidence because that's what Molly's name is.

Anyway. I always love it there even though I am not allowed in the house because I eat the cat's food. I don't even know its name. To me it's just THE CAT. No more information needed really.

Molly and I get on well although she is only 2 and I am nearly 10. Plus she a girl and I'm a boy. Well a man now I guess. But there are other differences as well.

Molly is a pedigree German Shepherd. The absolute original breed before a failed experiment with sloped back dogs was stopped. So she is kind of royalty, like a Hapsburg, and has a dog family as well as a human one. When Leigh and Janet go on holidays she visits her mother and father and some of her brothers and sisters on a farm as well as the humans who brought her up.

I am not a pedigree and I wouldn't want to visit my old family, especially the human ones. You see they weren't very nice to me. I won't go into it because I am better now. I even like blokes which took me about four years.

The thing is Molly has only known love and security. Plus she is a kind of German princess. Not in a 'she's a real princess' kind of a way but a real one. Like a lot of royalty, although she's the only one I have ever really met, she can be a little aloof. Leigh says she is discerning. I'm not. I'll roll over for anyone whose nice if there's a tummy scratch in it.

Shes not perfect though. She hates birds and ducks like I hate motor bikes.

Anyway, we do get on very well and she is very friendly to me. We had a bit of a blue over whose stick Leigh was throwing and I realized something a little bit painful. She is stronger and fitter than me. If we had a real fight I think I'd be in a lot of trouble.  You have to realize these things when you get a bit older.

Dad and I left yesterday and are having great drive back to Alice. Its really cold though and I needed both jackets. Its going to me minus 2 in Alice this week.

Anyway. Thank you for reading my DogBlog. I do like writing it and reading the comments and I don't need Dad as much now to help me with the English. Not bad for a cattle dingo mongrel. I feel I am making my way in the world.

PS. Dad gives an extract from his new book in the eSwag this week. It's a good one because I am in it.

Hello Tommie, My name is Hero and I'm a 10 month old black cocker. I belong to a lovely lady who is a children's author. I don't know what that is but it must be a good job because she's home with me most of the day and we go to parks and for walks a lot. You sound so worldly Tommie. I'd love to travel around like you do. It sounds like great fun. And all the dogs you can play with. I suppose now that you're 10 you probably don't like tumbling and running like a crazy person anymore, do you. I would like to meet you one day. My name is Hero but you are my hero. I know you could teach me a whole lotta stuff. Your fan Hero

Woof Hero .Gee. I am a bit lost for barks. I don't mind having a little fan though especially as you are only 10 months. Tell you what. Ill be your mentor and anything you want to ask me you can, ok? Woof woof Hero Wang.

Tommie... always remember AGE BEFORE BEAUTY! And anyway what's a little seniority when you haven't even got one wrinkle... wish I could say the same! Molly may be a Princess and I'm sure she's lovely but you Tommie are KING of The Road!! That's hard to top. By the way, your magic kennel sounds fabulous, better than a TARDIS especially as it delivers cows in sausages ready to go! I see you've got your old RMWilliams coat on for a bit of extra warmth... if heading back to Alice you'll be needing it - bit nippy at night. But I imagine your kennel is pretty cosy so I'm sure you're not doing it too tough. I miss Alice so give it a woof for me!! Stay safe and keep up the DogBlogging Tommie, you are earning plenty of 'tummy tickling fans'... woof woof H

Hey Tommie, really envy your travels around the countryside. Sounds like you are having a great time. Don't worry about Molly, if you had a real ding dong, it is experience that would win the day. Remember, no point in getting older if you don't get wiser - and you do. Keep up the blog, love reading it and looking forward to reading about you in dad's book. Can't wait. Stay warm.

Hi Tommie. You and I have a common friend... Cisco. He has left me in to work in his office while he helps you and dad on the quiet. I have told Cisco that I thought you were way cool (much cooler than your dad) and the best part of the whole electronic swag man set up. I asked Cisco to make sure he gives you lots and lots of pats and hugs and kisses to you from me. Thank you for letting Cisco take your photo and email it to my phone. Now I can take your picture everywhere with me. I showed your photo to my very best friend Podhi ( he's a miniature pincer dog)and have just finished showing and reading you blog to him. He is sooo impressed (and I think a little bit jealous). I hope you have lots of fun on the quiet. Say Hi to Cisco for me and if you ask him nicely he might even let you cuddle up near his swag.

Hey Tommie! I enjoyed reading about Molly and also about your visit to the cemetery in your dad's blog. Mum says she will buy the book! It will be really interesting and she will read the parts about you to me. Hope you are nice and warm in your new home. I don't always have time to reply but I do enjoy your blogs. Cheers, Max

Hey Tommy, I had no idea you were such a spunk! The jacket with the studs is way cool. Before I go on I should probably mention that I'm a cat. I know how you feel about us but trust me, some of us are OK. I'm gonna continue reading anyway or at least whenever I can sneak my mum's iPad. She's asleep right now do it's all cool. Miaow baby x
